THE DIPLOMA PLANNING INSTITUTE

Helping schools create a customized plan to reduce dropout

THE DIPLOMA PLANNING INSTITUTE

The National Dropout Prevention Center’s (NDPC) Diploma Planning Institute (DPI) is a transformative, blended learning experience designed to equip school-level teams with the tools needed to develop comprehensive dropout prevention plans. By collaborating with national field experts, participants use local data and their intimate knowledge of their students to create tailored strategies that effectively address at-risk populations. This focused approach allows schools to move from isolated efforts to cohesive, strategic plans, ultimately enhancing student performance and graduation rates. Each team leaves the event not only with a detailed plan but also with the resources and ongoing support necessary for successful implementation.

During the event, participants engage in examining local data, learning research-based strategies, and identifying both current and potential efforts within their schools. They target specific needs and risk factors unique to their student populations, ensuring that the plans they develop are not just theoretical but practical and actionable. This hands-on approach, combined with guidance from experts, ensures that each team can develop next steps for implementation that are grounded in proven methods and tailored to their unique contexts.
