Future-Focused Learning Summit

Picture your teachers… dedicated educators who spend countless evening hours crafting lesson plans, providing feedback, and managing administrative tasks. Now imagine them energized throughout the school day, fully present for meaningful student interactions, and still able to leave at dismissal time with the vitality to enjoy their lives beyond the classroom. This isn’t just a dream; it’s already happening in districts like Caldwell County (NC), Douglas County (CO), Naperville (IL), Mason City (OH), Surry County (NC), and Hermiston (OR). Through SPN’s Future-Focused Leadership services, these districts have discovered how to harness modern strategies and tools, including AI, to relieve time pressure on all staff, transform how teachers teach, and energize the entire educational community.

The Challenge

Teachers and administrators are facing mounting pressures that negatively impact efficiency, morale, and effectiveness. Much of this stems from a growing disconnect between our traditional instructional programs and methods and the changing expectations and learning styles of students who have grown up in a screen-based environment that is increasingly dominated by AI. Meanwhile, teachers and administrators are stretched thin, facing workload challenges that impact retention and effectiveness.

Our Solution: A Strategic Approach to System Transformation

SPN’s tailored approach to Future-Focused Leadership guides districts through a structured transformation process based on their current instructional landscape and future goals. Whether the objective is to maintain the status quo, adapt to targeted innovations, or completely transform instructional design, our services provide the necessary framework and support to achieve measurable and sustainable progress.

Summit Schedule

Day 1 -10/10/25

On the first day of the Summit, Dr. Bill Daggett will describe WHY schools must become future-focused and accept that transformational change is necessary. He will then define WHAT skills, knowledge, and abilities need to be blended throughout the instructional design and assessment planning process. Dr. Daggett will ask your team to begin thinking about, “Where are you now?” and “Where do you want to be in two years?” Over the course of the Summit, your team will drill down to whether the focus is to run more efficiently in the status quo, begin to adapt some fundamental shifts or implement total transformational change.

Day 2 -10/11/25

On day two, your team will receive specific strategies, tools, and resources on HOW to change your instructional practices, instructional design, and assessments to become Future-Focused. In addition to the innovative districts named earlier that have successfully transformed, your team will learn the latest on brain research, resilience strategies, and how to accept AI as an assistant.

Day 3 - 10/12/25

On day three, your team will work on a Future-Focused Action Plan for the next two years after reflecting on where you are now and the stage of transformation you want to arrive at: Stage 1: Maintain the Status Quo – Continue with current practices while recognizing ongoing challenges. This includes efforts to reduce stress on staff by showing them how AI can help them carry out their daily activities more efficiently, freeing up more time on their nights and weekends. Creating or updating strategic plans also applies to this stage of transformation. Stage 2: Adapt – Implement targeted changes in instructional strategies and design to improve efficiency and engagement. This includes offering new innovative and engaging instructional strategies, including ways to use AI to help build engaging lesson plans, shifting the dynamic between classroom Instruction and homework, and modifying the instructional design to break down the barriers between disciplines. Stage 3:  Transform – Fully redesign the instructional program. This includes integrating innovative instructional models and AI to transform classroom instruction and design, and student assessment.
